Insurance & Claims
Will my insurance cover hail damage?
Most homeowners insurance policies cover hail damage. We help you document the damage and navigate the claims process to ensure your claim is approved for a full roof replacement or repair.
Do I have to pay my insurance deductible?
Yes. Per Texas House Bill 2102, it is illegal for a roofing contractor to pay, waive, or absorb a deductible. Homeowners are legally required to pay their full deductible as part of the claim replacement.
Can you represent me during the adjuster meeting?
We strongly recommend it. We meet your insurance adjuster on-site to ensure they see all documented damage, including subtle signs of storm impact that can be missed, ensuring you get a fair assessment.
Do you provide emergency tarping services?
Yes. If your roof is leaking after a storm, we prioritize emergency tarping to mitigate internal damage. Most insurance policies cover the cost of these temporary repairs as part of 'loss mitigation.'
Services & Inspections
Do you perform small leak repairs?
Absolutely. Not every roof needs a full replacement. We provide targeted leak detection and repair services for pipe boots, flashing, and isolated shingle damage.
What are the first signs of storm damage I should look for?
Check for missing or creased shingles, 'bruises' on shingles, and granule accumulation in your gutters. Dents on metal vents, gutters, or window screens are also strong indicators of hail impact.
Are your roof inspections truly free?
Yes. We provide no-obligation, comprehensive physical inspections for homeowners in North Texas. We want you to have the facts about your roof's health before you make any decisions.
Project Timeline
How long does a roof replacement take?
Most residential roof replacements in Collin County are completed within 1 to 2 days. Our team works efficiently to minimize your home's disruption while ensuring every shingle is installed to the highest standards.
What happens if it rains during a roof replacement?
Thankfully this has only happened to us once in our 10 year history. Spring storms can be unpredictable and isolated storms have been known to happen, but we monitor North Texas weather closely. We only install when the weather forecast is favorable. However, If unexpected rain occurs, our crews are trained to quickly secure the roof's exposed areas with underlayment and tarps until conditions clear.
How far in advance should I schedule?
During non-peak seasons, we can usually start within 1-2 weeks. After major storms, timelines may stretch to 3-4 weeks. We offer priority scheduling for emergency leak situations and for our customers who need to have a roof replaced in order to complete a real estate transaction..
Materials & Options
What roofing materials do you recommend?
We specialize in Class 4 impact-resistant shingles, standing seam metal roofing, and premium asphalt shingles. These materials are specifically designed to withstand the intense hailstorms and high winds common in North Texas.
What is a Class 4 shingle?
A Class 4 rating is the highest impact resistance rating given to roofing materials. They are tested to withstand hail impacts up to about and inch and a half ( Slightly larger than a golf ball). However, we do get very large hail in North Texas so expecting these roofs to hold up to tennis ball size hail is not reasonable. In North Texas, upgrading to Class 4 shingles can often significantly reduce your annual insurance premiums.
Why is attic ventilation important?
Proper ventilation extends shingle life by preventing your attic from reaching damaging temperatures. It also reduces cooling costs and prevents moisture buildup that can lead to wood rot or mold. We often recommend adding Solar attic fans to a roof. These fans add mechanical ventilation without contributing to a higher electricity bill.Â
Do you install solar attic fans?
Yes. Solar attic fans are an eco-friendly way to actively exhaust hot air from your attic without increasing your electric bill. They are especially effective during North Texas summers.
Do you offer gutter replacement?
Yes, we provide high-quality seamless gutter installation as part of our roofing packages. Functional gutters are crucial for protecting your home's foundation from water runoff damage.
What warranties do you provide?
We provide a double-layered warranty: a comprehensive material warranty from top-tier manufacturers (like Owens Corning or GAF) and our own Green Legacy workmanship warranty, ensuring long-term peace of mind.
